Carrier Base Oils
Carrier oils, also referred to as base oils, are fixed oils (since they are not volatile) and are from vegetable origin extracted from either nuts or seeds. Carrier oils do not evaporate or have a strong aroma, making them the perfect pair for diluting especially strong essential oils. Carrier oils are used to dilute essential and other oils prior to topical application. The term carrier oil is derived from their purpose in carrying the essential oil onto the skin.
